Real Madrid to offer Antonio Rudiger one-year contract extension
Antonio Rudiger will be offered a one-year contract extension at Real Madrid, with the Germany international identified as an important figure in the squad.
Real Madrid’s hope of winning a trophy this season suffered a huge setback last Wednesday when Bayern Munich eliminated the Spanish side from the UEFA Champions League.
Currently nine points behind Barcelona in the race to win LaLiga, Real Madrid have started laying the groundwork for next season.
One of the major objectives is offering reliable players contract extension and letting go of some fringe players.
Rudiger in recent months has re-established himself as a key figure in the squad, is now expected to continue his journey at the Santiago Bernabéu beyond his current contract.
According to AS, the Spanish giant have already tabled a one-year extension offer and there is a growing confidence that the experienced centre-back will accept the proposal.

Rudiger had initially leaned towards securing a longer deal but he might be forced to settle for a year deal.
Madrid’s decision will shock teams monitoring Rudiger’s situation in Spain, with many expected to make a move in the summer.
In previous seasons, clubs from Saudi Arabia made strong attempts to lure him away with lucrative financial packages. However, the defender remained firm in his desire to succeed in Spain.
Rudiger will now be eager to end the season well as Madrid put in the last effort to win a title this season.
He’s also expected to lead the defense line this summer as Germany hope to clinch the FIFA World Cup title.
