Bayern Munich was hoping to sign Xabi Alonso when the season came to an end, however, the former Real Madrid midfielder wants to continue his project at Leverkusen.

Reports from TZ have now reported that  Ralf Rangnick is the man in the driving seat to become the next Bayern boss.

It is reported that Rangnick is highly thought of in his homeland, leading several clubs and pioneering philosophies that have swept the country.

Though he endured a difficult stint at Manchester United, Bayern Munich might provide a new opportunity for Rangnick to prove his managerial talent.
