‘Pathetic’: United star faces criticism over his behavior towards Coventry players

Manchester United winger, Antony has been criticized for his action towards Coventry players following the Red Devils FA Cup semi-final victory at Wembley stadium.

United were leading 3-0 before their Championship foes got back into the match and pulled off a great performance to drag the match to extra time and penalties.

Though United won the penalty shootout, Coventry fans were proud of their player’s performance while United fans were skeptical of Erik ten Hag’s team.

Surprisingly, after United’s winning penalty was converted by Rasmus Hojlund, Antony was spotted taunting Coventry’s players.

The Brazilian behavior has now been called out by fans who could not believe what was going through his mind.

Writer Matthew Stanger wrote: “This feels like the defining image of Ten Hag’s reign. Antony — a player United’s scouts rated at £25million but Ten Hag insisted the club paid £85m for, with only two goals and one assist all season — cupping his ears to the Coventry players/fans after a game like that. Pathetic.”

Similarly, another fan sighed: “Embarrassing from Antony. He cups his ears towards the Coventry players while [Harry] Maguire immediately goes over to shake their hands.”

“This is so poor from Antony,” commented another account in response.

Antony has failed to impress United fans all season and his recent behavior shows he might become a target if he does not improve.

United will be facing Manchester City in the FA Cup after the citizens defeated Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday. Antony will be eager to redeem himself when both teams play.
