Alejandro Garnacho offered Old Trafford escape route with £45m bid

Alejandro Garnacho has been offered the chance to leave Manchester United with Napoli willing to sign the winger this summer transfer window.

United are desperate to get rid of Garnacho in the wake of his bust-up with Old Trafford boss Ruben Amorim. The 20-year-old is one of five United players told by Amorim to stay away from pre-season training after they requested to leave.

Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia will train away from the main United squad until their futures are resolved.

However, United’s £60m valuation of Garnacho is looking like a hefty fee for interested club.

Napoli wants to sign him despite failing in their quest to do so in January. The Serie A side failed with a £60million bid for Garnacho in January, but are back in for the winger and are hoping to finally get him for £45m.

It is understood United remain in negotiations with Napoli, in the hope of striking a deal with the Italian champions over Garnacho. Napoli want Garnacho to link up with former Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne, who joined them on a free transfer earlier this summer, and former United midfielder Scott McTominay, voted Serie A Player of the Season last term.

And Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis reckons Garnacho will become an even better player once he leaves United. “Garnacho’s got pace, flair and potential,” said the Napoli chief.

“But that’s not even why we want him. We want him because he’s at United. Get him out and he becomes twice the player. There’s a fault at United that I can’t explain”

Garnacho was an important player at United last season but fell out with Amorim after being left out of United’s starting line-up for the Europa League final defeat against Tottenham in Bilbao. The Argentina star publicly questioned Amorim’s decision in the wake of United’s 1-0 defeat and said he would assess his future over the summer.
