Andre Onana left stunned as he completes Man Utd exit

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana on Thursday evening completed a season-long loan move to Trabzonspor, having fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper was dimmed surplus to requirements by United boss Ruben Amorim, a move that saw him dropped at the start of the Premier League campaign in favour of Altay Bayindir.
Onana cast more doubt on his future during his error-filled appearance in United’s humiliating Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town, United signed another goalkeeper, Senne Lammen.
The arrival of Lammen means Onana will have to settle for third-choice, a move that saw him accept a loan offer.
Onana landed at Trabzon Airport alongside his wife, Melanie, and was immediately mobbed by supporters, putting a smile back on his face after making another error during Cameroon’s 1-0 loss against Cape Verde on Tuesday. “I am very happy. I can say that I am very happy,” He told local outlet 61 Saat.

“I am starting a new project, a new adventure for me, I am very happy to be here. This is a feeling that makes me so happy. I’ve never felt so much love from people around me.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to be made to feel at home from the very first moment. I want to start working as soon as possible and reciprocate that love by making them happy on the field.”

The loan, which doesn’t include an option to buy, will see Trabzonspor cover his £120,000-a-week wages in full. Onana could make his debut as soon as Sunday, as his new team travel to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce.
“I’m always ready. Every player wants to play and take part in these kinds of matches,” the Cameroon international added. “Of course, we’ll be playing against an important and strong opponent. But we’re also aware of our strength.”
Onana spent two seasons with the Red Devils after joining from Inter Milan in July 2023. United spent £47.2m to sign the former Ajax star, who was fresh off helping Inter reach the Champions League final.
The Cameroon international will wear his favoured No.24 shirt at Trabzonspor, who are currently second in the league table, having collected 10 points from four games.
