Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is reportedly looking at leaving the club for a new challenge.

Griezmann has been one of the La Liga’s best performers over the last two seasons and is regarded as an important figure in the Spanish club set-up. However, there is a chance that he walks away this summer.

According to the latest report from L’Equipe, the 33-year-old has received an enticing contract proposal from LAFC, who already boast two of his former France teammates: Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud.

LAFC have been in talks with Griezmann’s entourage over the last few weeks, and they’ve now presented an offer to the man himself. They want him now, although they are prepared to wait until 2025 if they do not receive the green light for this summer’s operation.

The report noted that LAFC would have little problem paying his release clause, which is worth €10m.

If Griezmann end up moving to the MLS, his contract would make him the second-highest paid player in the MLS, behind former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi.

Atletico Madrid will be desperate to retain his services for at least one more season, especially considering that they’ve already parted ways with Memphis Depay and Alvaro Morata this summer.
