Arsenal misses out on Arteta’s top target who’s set to sign a new deal

Arsenal’s push for the Premier League title has suffered a huge setback with one of their January top target set to sign a new deal with his club.
Mikel Arteta’s side are eager to push Liverpool to the limit this season with current champion Manchester City not looking like a title contender. However, the latest injury suffered by Bukayo Saka means Arsenal needs to add more quality to the squad.
Having been linked with various players, Wolverhampton Wanderers playmaker Matheus Cunha has been tagged the main target.

However, the Brazilian is close to signing a lucrative new contract at Wolves which would serve as a huge heartbreak to Arsenal fans.
Cunha and his representatives are in advanced talks over a new deal and it is expected that the Brazilian forward will officially commit his future to Wolves within the next two weeks.
Wolves have moved to tie down their star of the season by offering him a long-term extension at Molineux.
It is understood the new terms could include a release clause that will only become active if Wolves are relegated from the Premier League, but details of the contract are yet to be fully completed.
Cunha currently has 10 goals and has delivered four assists in the Premier League so far this season. His form has also seen him linked to Manchester United.
The 25-year-old will miss Wolves’ next two matches after admitting improper conduct following a confrontation with an Ipswich staff member last month.
