FC Barcelona have completed their first signing of the summer transfer window for the senior team, with Pau Victor joining the Spanish giant from Girona.

The club took to their official website to announce his arrival. “FC Barcelona and Girona FC have reached an agreement so that the player Pau Víctor remains linked to the Barcelona club until June 30, 2029,” the statement from the club read.

Victor spent the last season on loan at Barça Atletic from Girona and finished as the top scorer in the third division with 20 strikes to his name, almost leading the Catalans’ reserve team to promotion.

Barcelona had a clause to make his transfer permanent for a fee of €3 million but let it expire in April and have negotiated a new fee for the 22-year-old striker.

Capable of playing anywhere across the frontline, Victor now joins the Blaugrana in a deal worth around €2.5 million plus add-ons according to reports, while signing a five-year contract until 2029.

Barcelona are set to begin a new era under Hansi Flick. The former Bayern Munich and Germany manager will have to integrate Victor into his plan. Unlike last season, the striker will be a part of the first-team dynamics and hope to act as the backup to Robert Lewandowski.
