Barcelona star injured after mis-using gym equipment

Barcelona have been forced to deal with various injury problem this season with 12 first team players having been affected already.

One of the players who have spent time on the sideline is Alejandro Balde, who was ruled out for a month after injuring his hamstring at the start of September.

Balde, who has become Barcelona’s undisputed left-back, missed matches against Valencia, Newcastle United, Getafe, Real Oviedo and Real Sociedad, but it has now been revealed that this could have been avoided.

According to The Athletic, the 22-year-old was injured after “he used a piece of gym equipment incorrectly”.

The report claim Balde was left unhappy as he felt he had been wrongly advised prior to the injury occurring, in what was another case where a Barcelona player had suffered an issue under the guidance of Julio Tous’ fitness team.

It is also reported that many players in the squad have been left “unsatisfied with the readaptation process they have had to follow after injury” and that there have been “multiple disagreements between the sides over the treatment injured players should follow.”

Lamine Yamal was another to have been affected, and in the end, it led to significant changes being made to the process, which has led Tous and his personnel to no longer oversee a number of aspects in regards to injury recovery.

The report states that Yamal “was not satisfied with the way his recovery had been handled. He asked to be treated by other members of club staff — a request that was granted.”
