Barcelona are set to be without one of their brightest youngsters for two months as Xavi Espart suffers a fresh injury.

Things has not changed this season with some youngsters called in to make a mark on the big stage. Xavi Espart has een enjoying Hansi Flick’s confidence, earning call-ups to the first-team squads in recent matches.

However, the youngster will not be available for selection in the next two months.

According to Diario SPORT, Xavi Espart has been ruled out for at least two months after picking up a fresh injury. Initial examinations indicate the problem is located in his right knee.

The medical staff is being highly cautious before issuing a definitive diagnosis, as there is a serious possibility that a ligament may be affected. The injury is a significant blow not just to the player, but to the club’s strategy for the coming weeks.

This injury represents a serious setback for his development, as he was expected to get some vital playing time in the coming weeks.

The club’s plan was for him to be a quality rotation option to give Jules Kounde, who has accumulated heavy minutes, a much-needed rest.

Espart was set to be part of Barça Atlètic’s team in their highly anticipated reserve team derby tomorrow against Espanyol B, alongside other talented players like Dro, Toni, and Guille Fernández.

He is now set for his rehabilitation process as Barcelona finds a new solution to the latest setback.
