Bayern Munich caught in the mix as Leverkusen demand Jonathan Tah’s transfer fee

Jonathan Tah is prepared to leave Bayern Leverkusen for Bayern Munich in the summer but Leverkusen are refusing to let the defender go for free despite his contract ending soon.
Tah’s current contract at Leverkusen will expire at the end of June and has announced he’ll not be signing a new deal. With personal terms already agreed with Bayern Munich, a new adventure starts in the early days of July.
However, Bayern Munich wants Tah to represent them at the Club World Cup tournament in June with the club currently struggling with injuries in their defensive setup.
Latest report from Sport Bild claim Leverkusen are not willing to let him leave for free just yet and are demanding a transfer fee to release him early.

Bayern needs a defender as Erik Dier is off to Monaco and will not be staying past June 30, while Dayot Upamecano is still recovering from a knee procedure. Kim Min-jae has been dealing with a chronic Achilles issue, and Hiroki Ito is out long-term with a broken metatarsal.
Tah looks like the only option they’ve got to strengthen their team and Leverkusen are demanding at least €1m for the Germany International early release despite his contract expiring in July.
Club officials Fernando Carro and Simon Rolfes are standing firm in talks, refusing to let him go without compensation.
Bayern are expected to push for a quick agreement with Leverkusen this week to ensure Tah is available before they jet off to the United States. If the deal is completed, the German international will undergo a medical and sign a contract until 2029.
