“False”: Besiktas deny rumours they will sack Ole Gunnar Solskjær

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær will retain his job at Besiktas despite rumours claiming he’s on the verge of being sacked.
Solskjær has come under increasing pressure at Besiktas in recent weeks as results continue to fall short of expectations. Despite receiving backing in the transfer market, the former Manchester United manager has yet to find consistency with his squad.
Besiktas failed to qualify for the competitive phase of the Europa League, a move that has intensified scrutiny over Solskjær’s position.

However, Besiktas have issued an official statement to clarify the future of Solskjær at the club. The club dismissed the speculation and insisted that there are no plans to part ways with Solskjær or to appoint Sahin as his successor.
As published on their website and quoted by Besiktas JK:
“The reports published in various media, citing foreign sources, and claiming that we will part ways with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær and then sign a contract with Nuri Sahin, are false.”
Solskjær will be glad the club have come out to clarify his future. However, the former Manchester United manager understands that he must produce positive results to retain his position at the club.
Continued poor performances could change the club’s stance, and the coming weeks are likely to be decisive for his tenure.
Besiktas will continue to compete domestically against established rivals such as Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, a move that meant Solskjær has a tough task ahead of him.
