Bukayo Saka breaks 87 years old Arsenal record in stunning fashion

Bukayo Saka has written his name in the record book as he breaks an 87 years old Arsenal record during England’s 3-0 friendly win against Wales.

After goals from Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins, Saka helped pile on the early misery on the visitors with just 20 minutes played. The Arsenal star found the top corner with an excellent curling strike from just inside the box.

The goal was Saka’s 13th at international level, and he has now become Arsenal’s highest ever goalscorer for England.

He had sat level with Gunners legend Cliff Bastin before Thursday night, but now tops the charts thanks to his superb strike.

Bastin last netted in 1938 – five years after his first goal – with Saka now beating his tally 87 years later.

Saka’s strike was his first for England since their Euro 2024 quarter-final win against Switzerland.
