Carlo Ancelotti reportedly ‘reaches agreement’ to become new Brazil boss

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly reached an agreement to become the new head coach of the Brazil national team from June.

Ancelotti’s future has been in the spotlight for the past few months and it’s looking like the Italian will be allowed to leave at the end of the season. Madrid’s recent loss to Barcelona in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final has further fuelled the departure news.

Despite winning the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup this season, there are clear indications Madrid will let go of Ancelotti with the Spanish giant looking to hire Bayern Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso.

Latest report from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has now indicated that Ancelotti has ‘reached an agreement’ to become the new head coach of the Brazil national team.

The update claims that Real Madrid and Ancelotti will part ways on good terms, with a formal announcement expected in due course to confirm his departure.

Crucially, Brazil have made it clear they want Ancelotti in place to lead the team in June’s World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.

As a result, Ancelotti will not coach Real Madrid at the Club World Cup in the USA and will leave his role following the final game of the domestic season against Real Sociedad.

Real Madrid will be left to makea decisive decision on who will lead the team at the Club World Cup. If an agreement is not reached with a new coach, the club will have to appoint a caretaker coach.

If a caretaker boss is appointed, the club’s director of football, Santiago Solari, is the obvious candidate to oversee first-team matters for this summer’s tournament.
