Cesc Fabregas is reportedly a possible target for German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig following an encouraging first season in charge of Como.
Fabregas is in his first season in management has impressed football fans with his performance with Como. The Italian side are currently 13th in Serie A and sit nine points above the relegation zone.
The former Barcelona star seems set to guide them to safety and that appears to have caught Leipzig’s attention. That would be a big step up for the 37-year-old with his managerial career.
According to Sky Germany reporter Philipp Hinze, former Arsenal and Chelsea star Fabregas is a ‘concrete’ option for Leipzig after firing Marco Rose last month. But the German team are also said to be considering Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner.
The report also adds that former Benfica manager Roger Schmidt is also on their managerial shortlist. Additionally, Brentford’s Thomas Frank has also be shortlisted but he will be ‘hard to get’.
It’s left to be seen if Fabregas will stay at Como or potentially head to Germany where he will face more pressure and competition.
