‘Chelsea may regret dropped points against Ipswich’: Enzo Maresca admits

Chelsea came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Ipswich but Enzo Maresca believes the club may regret dropping these valuable points.
Ipswich, who beat Chelsea 2-0 at Portman Road in December, were 2-0 up at the break through Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson. However, the London club pulled one back within 18 seconds of the restart through Axel Tuanzebe’s own goal but despite creating many chances were able to add just a single point to the tally.
Jadon Sancho’s fine equaliser prevented Ipswich from celebrating a home and away double but really this result was nothing but a big boost for Chelsea’s rivals for Champions League qualification.

Speaking if Chelsea will regret not taking all three points at the end of the season, “At the end of the season, we’ll see,” said manager Enzo Maresca. “Hopefully not for us.
“We are going to win games but at the same time we are going to drop points because it’s normal.”
Chelsea were booed off at the break. “We are stronger with our fans, we are a better team and it’s up to them to decide the way,” was Maresca’s take on that.
The dropped points against Ipswich means Chelsea have dropped to sixth on the table. Enzo Maresca’s team are three points off Nottingham Forest who currently occupy the third spot.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are level on point with Chelsea despite occupying the seventh point. The battle for a place in the Champions League is set to go down the wire with the Premier League set to provide five teams.
