Crystal Palace urged to retain Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi amidst Arsenal, Liverpool link

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has begged the club not to sanction the sales of key players like Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze.

Guehi has entered the final year of his contract and has been linked with a move to Liverpool, while Arsenal have entered negotiations over a potential £60million move for Eze.

Both players played an important role last season as Crystal Palace defeated Manchester City to win the FA Cup title. However, interest from the top clubs look tempting and it’s looking like they might seek a new start.

“Even though all the players are still here, we haven’t made the most of the transfer window so far,” Glasner told Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung during Palace’s pre-season tour. “I was promised that we would be more active and bring in the new players earlier this year.

“As of now, I have 17 outfield players. I hope we don’t lose any more. If that happens and we get four new ones on deadline day like last year, another false start is possible.”

Aside from Eze and Guehi, Adam Wharton has been linked with a summer exit. Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sign the midfielder this year but Crystal Palace are likely to reject any offer.

Palace have a lot of issues on their table as they still don’t know which European competition they’ll be playing in next season.

Glasner’s side were demoted from the Europa League to the Conference League after being found to have breached UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules, a decision which they’ve since appealed.
