Hansi Flick reveals Barcelona’s game plan for Real Madrid clash

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has revealed his side principle ahead of their Saturday’s Clasico clash with Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick’s side travel to the Santiago Bernabeu sitting top of La Liga, three points clear of their arch-rivals, and off the back of a stunning 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
However, with Madrid posing a formidable frontline in Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, Flick is adamant his side will not change their style in what is their biggest game of the season so far.
Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “We have our ideas. Our philosophy is to press high, and make it hard for the opponent to play out. Being close, very close together. Too much space between the lines doesn’t work for us. Real Madrid have very quick players, but I have full confidence in my team”.
Flick’s options for the game have greatly increased in the last week, with Frenkie de Jong and Dani Olmo making returns from injury against Bayern, following on from Gavi’s comeback from nearly a year out
A win for Barcelona will see Madrid lose further grounds in the title chase, and also stop Real Madrid equalling their record for league games unbeaten.
Real Madrid have not lost in 42 LaLiga outings, one fewer than Barca’s 43-game run from 2017 to 2018.
