Italian club to send Man Utd ultimatum over Mason Greenwood deal
Seria A side Lazio are looking to send Manchester United an ultimatum over Mason Greenwood deal, La gazzetta dello sport reports.
Manchester United are looking to sell Greenwood this summer and the winger has attracted interest from teams across Europe.
Greenwood has emerged as a top transfer target for Serie A clubs Juventus and Lazio, but the Biancocelesti have already sent an opening offer for the ex-Getafe loanee, according to Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport.
Both newspapers report that the Biancocelesti offered €20m plus a 50% sell-on clause, but United rejected it.
Though Lazio are not willing to raise their offer and match Man United‘s €35m asking price, they will send the same offer again, saying that it will be valid until July 10.
Lazio hope this will force the Red Devils to accept their conditions, given that no Premier League club is interested in the Englishman and that Manchester United have not yet received offers from other clubs
According to the report, Marseille and Benfica are among the most interested clubs in Greenwood but haven’t yet sent a formal bid.
Lazio are reportedly ready to offer Greenwood a €3.5m-a-year contract plus €500,000 add-ons.
Manchester United and Lazio begin the pre-season on July 8, and according to Gazzetta, the Red Devils want to part company with Greenwood before that date.
