Arsenal have confirmed striker Kai Havertz has suffered a serious hamstring injury which will rule him out for the rest of the season.
Havertz suffered an hamstring injury on Arsenal’s warm-weather training camp trip to Dubai; German set to miss rest of season leaving Gunners without a recognised centre-forward; Gabriel Jesus out with knee injury while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli recovering from hamstring issues
A club statement confirmed the injury and added: “Subsequent assessments and specialist reviews have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, which will take place in the coming days.
“Soon after surgery, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, which is expected to extend into pre-season preparations for next season.”

Arsenal will now be without a recognised striker for the final 14 games of the Premier League season, as they bid to close the gap on leaders Liverpool, plus the rest of their Champions League campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s side failed to sign a forward in the January transfer window after a late bid for Ollie Watkins was rejected by Aston Villa. The club were also linked with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak but failed to work out a deal with Newcastle.
