Liverpool forward set to sign new contract as fresh agreement reached

Liverpool are currently eager to tie down some players to a new contract and this includes Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah.

The Reds continued their bid for a second Premier League title in five years as they secured a hard-fought 2-0 win at Bournemouth over the weekend. Once again, it was Sarah’s show.

Despite his contract running out in the summer, Salah scored two goals this weekend to help his team secure an important win.

Off the pitch, Liverpool are eager to end the January transfer window on a high by securing loan deals for some of their younger stars.

Kaide Gordon is poised for a switch to Portsmouth to add their fight against relegation while Jayden Danns is reportedly set to join promotion-chasing Sunderland.

However, 19-year-old Danns is set to sign a new contract at Liverpool before heading to the Stadium of Light. The move will be the player’s first senior loan away from the club.

Danns started as the Reds lost 3-2 to PSV in the Champions League while he has made three appearances off the bench in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Tipped for greatness, Danns scored in the FA Cup as Liverpool beat Accrington Stanley 4-0. He has made nine senior appearances for the Reds and scored three goals.

His other two goals also came in the FA Cup as Liverpool beat Southampton 3-0 at Anfield in the fifth round in 2024. He came off the bench in the Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea last season.

Liverpool are unlikely to bring in any new player this January but the loan deal of Danns might be sanctioned before the transfer window close.
