January Transfer Window: Liverpool top target clarifies his future

The January transfer window will give some clubs the opportunity to add more super power to their squad and this include Liverpool.

Liverpool are currently in good form under Arne Slot, the Reds are on top of the Premier League and are also leading the UEFA Champions League log. However, they’ve been linked to various players especially Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

Gordon was linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window but despite Newcastle desperate to sell players as they wanted to abide by the Profit and Sustainability Rules, both clubs failed you reach a resolution.

The England international who has since moved on from the drama has shared more clarification on his future ahead of the January transfer window.

While speaking on Sky Sports, Gordon has claimed that he wants to focus on his football and he is currently not thinking about move away from St James’ Park.

“I’ve had a lot this year about my future, where I’m going, where I want to go – without anyone actually asking me,” Gordon told Sky Sports.

“It’s all a bit… Just leave me to play football! I just want to be happy [and] play football. I love being here, I’ve said it plenty of times. With the speculation, people assume that it’s all correct, when you’ve not heard from me once that I’m unhappy at this place.

“I love everyone here, I love playing football here. That was all that was.”

Gordon has been instrumental in Newcastle United’s season so far, scoring three goals in the Premier League this season for Eddie Howe’s team.

However, he will be eager to improve on his goalscoring record with Newcastle currently occupying the 12th spot despite being tipped to fight for Champions League place.
