Man City on the brink of Champions League exit as PSG records comeback win

Manchester City are on the brink of being eliminated from the 2024/25 Champions League season after another disappointing loss to PSG.
Pep Guardiola’s team needed a win to give themselves a chance of progressing to the next round and it looked like things will work according to plan when Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland gave them two goals lead.
City had to wait till the second half before they could find the back of the net. However, the Citizens conceded twice in a breathless spell of four goals in ten minutes.
The first PSG goal, after 55 minutes, came when the hosts targeted Matheus Nunes in the City defence, the brilliant Bradley Barcola spinning away from him, tearing down the left and crossing for substitute Ousmane Dembele to convert from a dozen yards.
As the game proceeded, City failed to deal with the aggressive Paris press and Desire Doue thundered a shot across the bar and the brilliant Barcola pounced to convert the rebound in off the far post.

With PSG also needing a win to give them a chance of qualifying for the next round, Joao Neves netted the 78th minute winner, heading in a Vitinha free-kick at the far post.
Goncalo Ramos wrapped up the win three minutes into added time, from literally the last kick of the night, with a goal that was first ruled out, but then allowed by VAR as the ball had been touched to him by Josko Gvardiol.
City and Guardiola will face the real prospect of elimination when they play their final group game against Club Brugge on Wednesday.
