Former Man City star returns to management after over a year out

Former Manchester United and Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez has made a sensational return to management after one year of unemployment.
Undoubtedly one of the best goalscorers in the world of football, Tevez took up his first role as a manager just months after his retirement from professional football. The former Argentina international accepted his first job as a head coach in 2022 when he took charge at Rosario Central.
However, he spent one season at the club before heading to Independiente. Last summer, Tevez left the managerial role at the Argentine side, but has now been appointed by Club Atletico Talleres.
Tevez has joined Argentine top flight outfit Club Atletico Talleres as their new manager following the sudden resignation of head coach Diego Cocca and his entire coaching staff.

The official statement from Club Atletico read: “Following the resignation submitted by Diego Cocca and his technical staff this morning, first to the players and then to the authorities, the Board of Directors made the decision to hire Carlos Tevez as the new Technical Director.”
Tevez has a huge challenge on his hands as the club are currently struggling in 14th position in Group B of the Argentine top division.
The 41-year-old will conduct his first training session at the Amadeo Nuccetelli High-Performance Sports Centre on Wednesday, just hours after accepting the job.
Tevez’s new job comes just weeks after he scored four goals in the Soccer Aid 2025 charity game at Old Trafford. His first game in charge will come on Friday as Club Atletico Talleres take on San Lorenzo in a very important league clash.
