£73million Flop! Man Utd officially confirm Jadon Sancho departure
Manchester United have confirmed the departure of Jadon Sancho alongside five other players as the club begin preparation for the 2026/27 season.
Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund for £73million in 2021 and ended up making 83 appearances during his time at Old Trafford, scoring 12 times and providing six assists.
Th England international spent the second half of the 2023/24 season back at Dortmund before going on loan again to Chelsea for 2024/25 and then to Aston Villa for 2025/26.
Man United failed in their attempt to offload Sancho in each of the last two summer transfer windows and would now lose him for free when his contract expires at the end of June.

Joining Sancho to depart United is Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey and Malachi Sharpe, after the Reds announced their full retained list on Wednesday morning.
Sancho’s final game for the Reds came in the 2024 Community Shield, when he came on as a second-half substitute against Manchester City.
Unlike Sancho, Casemiro confirmed his United exit in January and ended the season in fine form for Michael Carrick’s side.
The Brazilian warmed the heart of fans with his skills and many urged him to sign a contract extension.
Meanwhile, Malacia endured a troublesome four years at United after arriving from Feyenoord for £13m in 2022.
Despite having a promising first season at Old Trafford, making 39 appearances across all competitions, things went downhill after he suffered a serious knee injury that kept him out for 18 months.
The Dutchman played just 12 times for United following his return to fitness in November 2024.
Aljofree, Bailey and Sharpe are to depart from United’s academy and the club will support them in finding new clubs.
