Man Utd Players Want Michael Carrick Appointed as Permanent Manager
Manchester United are still on the look out for a new manager, but top players in the team are eager to see Michael Carrick appointed on a permanent basis.
United have witnessed a great turnover since Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim on a contract which runs until the end of the season. The Red Devils have won seven of his the games Carrick has taken charge, and are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Sitting comfortably in third place in the Premier League, Carrick is now firmly in the frame to lead United into next season, and has the backing of the squad.
“Obviously it’s not for us as a player to decide his future, but he’s been very great, he’s been doing so much for the team,” Amad told reporters in Dublin on Tuesday.
“He has a lot of experience, he knows the club and has the DNA. We think he’s the right man, but we are really happy for what he’s doing right now.
“Since he’s arrived he’s been clear to everyone that he wants to win, he wants to reach the Champions League next season, working with each player. He’s been doing really well and we’re really happy to have him as the manager.
“Sometimes this kind of manager can bring a club where they belong. From my personal side he’s the right man but it’s not the players who decide, but we are really happy to have him as a manager.”

Mbeumo also share the same opinion as Amad, claiming the players have enjoyed working under Carrick.
“We’ve got good experience with him, playing under him as well,” he said. “As (Amad) said, it’s not for us to decide, but we’re going to try to take as much as we can from him.
“He knows the DNA of the club, he knows how to talk to us as well, I think it’s been easier because he knows the place. It’s been great to work under him.”
Mbeumo joined United from Brentford last summer, making the decision to move to Old Trafford despite their failure to qualify for European competition under Amorim.
Asked if qualifying for the Champions League this term would justify his decision to make the move, Mbeumo said: “Joining United was a big thing for me. I’m someone who likes challenges and coming here was one of the challenges I fixed myself.
“Getting the reward at the end of the season would be a great moment.
“It’s clear for everyone with the position we are now, we want to finish as strong as possible and reach the top of the positions in the table. Hopefully (we can) play in the Champions League.”
