Man Utd confirm Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future following Amorim arrival

Manchester United have confirmed that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the Premier League club following the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim.
A legend at the club, Van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford over the summer to become assistant manager to Erik ten Hag. However, following the Dutchman’s sacking last month, he took charge of the team as interim manager.
While many fans hoped he will be given the chance to lead the team on a permanent basis, United quickly sought out the services of Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim.
Amorim starts his reign as United manager on November 11, with the head coach duly arriving at Carrington on Monday.

But no sooner had Amorim arrived at United, Van Nistelrooy departed, with a club statement on Monday evening reading: ‘Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club.
‘Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.
‘Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend.
‘We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.
‘Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed and we wish them all well for the future.
‘We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course.’
Speaking on Sunday, Amorim suggested Van Nistelrooy would not be a part of his team, saying: ‘A legend of the club. He did a great job.
‘I have to talk with him tomorrow [Monday]. Then I will explain everything. I am very clear and I will tell you like it is. Let’s wait until tomorrow.’
