Marcus Rashford excluded from training group despite early arrival

Manchester United players have resumed training for their 2025/26 pre-season preparations but England international Marcus Rashford has been forced to train alone.

Following a disappointing 2024/25 season, Manchester United fans are anticipating a new era in Ruben Amorim’s first full season at the club. However, Marcus Rashford is expected to leave the club despite his numerous achievements over the years.

Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa but has been told to find a new club this summer.

According to the latest from The Athletic, Rashford was one of five players granted additional time off to assess potential transfers, but he chosed to return ahead of schedule.

Alongside Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, Rashford had been informed by the club that his return would be delayed to give clarity on his future. Yet this early reappearance suggests either a shift in personal stance or a lack of movement in the market.

“Despite claims by club sources on Friday that all five had asked to leave United, some of the players’ camps have denied this,” The Athletic reported.

Barcelona are the biggest club linked with Rashford with the Spanish giant failing in their pursuit of Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. However, the Catalonia club are also exploring other wide options, including Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.

To prove Rashford is no longer wanted at the club, United have already given their new signing Matheus Cunha the iconic No. 10 shirt worn by Rashford following his £62.5 million arrival from Wolves.

The Red Devils have also been linked with Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, however, they will face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
