Nicolas Jackson makes final decision on Chelsea future
Nicolas Jackson spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Bayern Munich, helping the German side win the Bundesliga title.
It was a productive spell in Germany, however, the Senegalese forward is set to return to Stamford Bridge as Bayern Munich have opted against signing him on a permanent deal.
Jackson has been linked with a move to various teams across Europe, but the former Villarreal forward has reportedly decided to stay at Stamford Bridge in a bid to prove his worth to new head coach Xabi Alonso.
According to Football Insider, Jackson is delaying any potential move away from Chelsea until later in the transfer window to give himself the best possible chance of making an impact.

It is understood that Alonso wants to assess his entire squad personally before identifying which players will form part of his long-term project at Stamford Bridge.
“He’s going to return to Chelsea this pre-season and I’m sure Jackson will be looking to see if he can make an impact on Xabi Alonso,” explained transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke on the Transfer Insider podcast. “It’s a clean slate for everybody at Chelsea and I’m sure Alonso will cast an eye over everybody.”
If he decides to leave, Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli have both been credited with an interest in Jackson as they look to bolster their offensive lines for the new season.
Newcastle United are also monitoring his situation at Stamford Bridge and would be eager to have him in their squad.
Jackson’s contract at Chelsea runs until 2033 and its left to be seen if he’ll be allowed to leave or given another chance to prove himself.
