Roberto Mancini quits as Saudi Arabia national team coach

Former Italy manager Roberto Mancini has left his role as the head coach of the Saudi Arabian national football team.
The Saudi Football Federation announced the mutual termination of their contract with the former Italy manager in an official statement released today.
The decision marks the conclusion of Mancini’s brief stint with the Saudi national team, which began with high hopes following his successful run with Italy, including winning the European Championship in 2021. However, recent disappointing results have led to this unexpected separation.
During his 18-match tenure with Saudi Arabia, Mancini’s record stood at 7 wins, 5 draws, and 6 losses. The team’s performance in October proved particularly crucial in this decision, as a home defeat against Japan and a draw with Bahrain significantly complicated Saudi Arabia’s path to qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
This development leaves the Saudi national team at a crossroads as they continue their campaign for World Cup qualification.
Saudi Football Federation will now face the task of finding a suitable replacement who can steer the team back on course for their international ambitions.
