Tottenham Confirm Van de Ven’s Injury Update Ahead of Man Utd Clash

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has revealed that Micky van de Ven is ready to start for the London club against Manchester United on Saturday.

Van de Ven has missed Tottenham’s last two games, away at Eintracht Frankfurt and at home to Manchester City, with an unspecified minor injury.

In his short absence, Spurs claimed an impressive 2-0 win in Germany to seal a last-16 spot in the Champions League before battling back from 2-0 down to earn a credible draw against Man City.

However, with Cristian Romero facing the prospect of not being available after coming off at half-time last weekend as he felt unwell, Van de Ven will be available as Frank also shared a good news.

Frank confirmed during his pre-match press conference that his first-choice central defensive pairing could be reunited against Michael Carrick’s side.

In further good news for Spurs, Van de Ven is in contention to be handed an immediate recall for the huge Premier League game at Old Trafford.

“Yes, he can go straight back in,” Frank said. “ He’s fit, he’s available, he is in a very good place.

“Last year I think he played 22 games, he’s played 30 games this year and the year before, 29, so he has been built strong.

“He is doing a lot of recovery and gym. He is a beast, so that is very good.”

Kevin Danso will miss the game at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ with a toe injury, but Frank is hopeful the central defender will not be sidelined for the long-term.

“Very unlucky and I think every single time he has been called upon this season, he has just delivered for the team, Frank added.

“It is fantastic to work with him in every aspect.

“Will be probably know a little bit more this week in terms of how long, but hopefully it will not be too long.”
