Trevoh Chalobah returns to Chelsea as Maresca cuts short his loan spell

Premier League side Chelsea has recalled defender Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Premier League side Crystal Palace.

Chalobah joined the Eagles on loan in August, featured 14 times under Oliver Glasner and scored three goals. However, he is back at Stamford Bridge following the blues injury crisis at the back.

Crystal Palace also confirmed the news, writing ahead of their Premier League clash with Leicester: “Crystal Palace can confirm that Chelsea have activated an option to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell. The defender will return to Chelsea.

“After joining Palace on loan in August, Chalobah made 14 appearances for the club, scoring three goals, including the opener in our 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last month.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank Trevoh for his hard work and achievements in red and blue, and wish him the very best for his future.”

Chalobah only spent less than five months at Crystal Palace in total, but the club clearly made a quick impression on him.

The England international who has made 80 appearances for the Blues, returns to Stamford Bridge with immediate effect and will join up with Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad. He will wear the No.23 shirt.
