Jurgen Klopp reveals the Premier League player he doesn’t like after title-race incident

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the Premier League player he does not like after his mistake cost the Reds the League title.
Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool at the end of 2023/24 season after nine years in charge of the Premier League giant. The German tactician has achieved a huge success at Liverpool with seven major trophies including a first league title in 30 years and a sixth Champions League crown.
Liverpool were on the verge of winning the 2019 Premier League but Manchester City won the title after a huge victory over Leicester City.
Vincent Kompany scored the winning goal and Klopp is yet to take his mind off the player who allowed him to shoot.
Klopp in a recent interview claimed he still holds a grudge over James Maddison for giving Kompany time to shoot.
Klopp told Redmen TV: “The moment when Vincent Kompany touched the ball there, I am really happy I didn’t get a stroke in that moment as that’s how it must feel.
“I remember exactly how I was lying on the sofa watching and thinking ‘Maddison block him, close him down’.
“Since then I don’t like Maddison. I was angry with Brendan [Rodgers] that day because he should have taken him off, he was tired.
“Leicester played really good first half, after that they should have scored.
“It’s just a personal thing, I have no problem with him, but when I see him it’s… and now I saw him again last weekend.”
Klopp last came face to face with Maddison in Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Tottenham in May. It’s set to be an emotional day for Klopp when he manages Liverpool for the last time on Sunday.
Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is set to be announced as his replacement with the Reds set for a new era under a new coach.
