Liverpool agree record £130m deal to sign Alexander Isak

Liverpool have reportedly reached a record £130m deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day.
Isak is set for a medical at Liverpool on Monday before the summer window closes at 7pm with a British record move set to be completed. According to The Telegraph and football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal has been agreed in what will end the biggest transfer saga of the summer window, with personal terms already sorted.
Isak has made no secret of his desire to leave Newcastle for Liverpool and the Reds have long been keen to bring the striker to Anfield, with the Sweden international set to sign a six-year deal with Arne Slot’s side.
Liverpool’s first offer of £110m was rejected by Newcastle – and it was previously thought that the Magpies would only let him go for £150m.
The Reds have been active in the transfer window brining in striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ekitike cost Liverpool £79m while the addition of Isak will add more superpower to Liverpool’s front line.
Isak has registered 62 goals and 11 assists across 109 games for Newcastle since he joined the club from Real Sociedad in 2022.
He is now set for a new era at Liverpool and he’ll be eager to help The Reds defend the Premier League title they won in Slot’s debut season as head coach last term.
