‘It’s serious’ – Luis Enrique confirms PSG forward faces long spell out

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has confirmed that Goncalo Ramos could miss weeks after the striker suffered a ‘serious’ injury in their league opener.

Tipped to play an important role this season after the departure of Kylian Mbappe, Ramos went down in PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Le Havre after Etienne Kinkoue made a poor tackle from behind. The Portuguese limped off the pitch in distress in the 20th minute as Randal Kolo Muani replaced him.

Speaking to journalists after the match, Enrique was questioned about his star forward and he was adamant about that Ramos suffered a serious injury.

Enrique said, “I’m not a doctor but I think it looks pretty serious. I don’t know how many weeks he will be out injured but it’s serious.” It has been reported that Ramos twisted his ankle, and he was pictured leaving the stadium wearing a protective boot.

Despite losing Ramos to injury in the early stages, PSG eventually managed to clinch a 4-1 win courtesy of goals from Lee Kang-in, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Kolo Muani.

PSG will be back in action on August 23 as they take on Montpellier in Ligue 1. Ramos, however, is likely to be sidelined. Its left to see how many weeks the 23-year-old will use on the sideline as Enrique hope to defend the French Ligue 1 title they won last season.
