Virgil van Dijk offered record-breaking contract to join Saudi Arabian outfit

Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has been offered the chance to become the highest-earning defender in the world with a move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr.

Van Dijk will enter the final year of his contract this summer and will only discuss his Liverpool future after Euro 2024.

The former Southampton defender who turns 33 in July has been linked with a move out of Anfield with clubs across the world eager to have him onboard.

However, latest reports from MARCA states that Van Dijk is seen as a potential target in Saudi Arabia, where Al Nassr are looking to strike a deal.

According to the report, Van Dijk’s representatives have met with Al Nassr’s directors, with the Saudi side prepared to offer a contract with the highest salary ever handed to a defender.

Al Nassr wants to win a silverware next season and believes having a great center-back like Van Dijk will he fulfill their dream.

Alongside Van Dijk, Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has also been linked to Al Nassr.

The Saudi Arabian outfit currently boost of top players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Otavio, Marcelo Brozovic, Aymeric Laporte, Talisca, Alex Telles and David Ospina.

Van Dijk is currently with the Netherlands national team at Euro 2024 and will only speak about his future when the tournament comes to an end.
