Hamilton took responsibility for the crash, which forced him to retire from the race and sent Russell to the back of the field. Russell recovered to finish fourth, but Hamilton’s retirement was a missed opportunity for Mercedes.

Hamilton said:

that he and Russell would discuss the incident and work through it. He also said that he was happy to take responsibility as the older driver.”

Their next outing will be at the United States Grand Prix in Austin through Oct 20 – 22, the pair will be looking forward to avoid such similar incidence.
